Always be sure and use any challenge course operational equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Read and SAVE any literature that accompanies equipment purchased for use on your ropes course.
The equipment used on your ropes course plays a critical part in the safe operation of your program. ACCT standards require an annual inspection by a qualified challenge course professional. This includes a list of any equipment used on your course as well as an evaluation of the equipment's condition. Your inspector will look to see if the equipment is stored properly and if there are any signs of damage to equipment that may be due to improper use or storage. Your inspector will look for the manufacture dates on all equipment containing nylon including ropes, harnesses, Prusiks, helmets, etc. so that retirement recommendations can be made. Your inspector will also want to look at your rope logs to make sure they are complete and up to date.
