Design & Construction > High Challenge Courses

Cornerstone Designs, Inc. has the capability to build a variety of individual and team-oriented high course elements. In general, high course elements are designed to encourage individual challenges and personal goal-setting and have proven to be both immensely popular and successful in experiential/educational adventure programs. In addition to the myriad of more traditional design options, CDI has created a number of high course specialty designs.

High course elements can be connected to trees if available, or they can be installed using specially treated utility poles, which provide for better quality control and longevity. If built on poles, the course would have an expected life span of over fifteen years (with proper maintenance). If built in trees, there would likely be frequent maintenance and repair work as trees grow over connection hardware. CDI builds according to the latest industry standards (ACCT) and utilizes construction materials of galvanized steel hardware. This includes all bolts, cable, cable clips and other connection hardware. After completion, all platforms will be sprayed with a cedar-stained Total Wood Preservative® to prolong the life of the event. The elements have an expected life span of over fifteen years (with proper maintenance).

This list of elements is not comprehensive; please contact CDI with any ideas or questions about additional events or modifications of those described.
